"without the playing with fantasy no creative work has ever yet come to birth. The debt we owe to the play of imagination is incalculable." Carl Jung

BTEC FOUNDATION IN ART & DESIGN
DOUKAS SCHOOL

ATHENS, GREECE

We all experience architecture without thinking about it.  The space that surrounds us, our homes, our schools, the built environment, even our memories are linked in one way or another to architectural experiences.   Through this course students begin to comprehend the essence of space, form, function, and materiality.  In addition, it defines how our experience of space is determined by architecture and design.

TASIS SPANISH SUMMER PROGRAM

SALAMANCA, SPAIN

The city of Salamanca provides the ultimate setting for an introduction to architectural design; it’s a place of incessant inspiration and creativity.   Students learn from the city's rich heritage and urban fabric.  Students are outdoors exploring the city, sketching, taking photos, mapping points of interest, looking at details, patterns, textures and materials.

BA HONS ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY, ATHENS METROPOLITAN COLLEGE

ATHENS, GREECE

The aim of the first year is to create a base for the students to begin to think creatively and spatially. Applying problem solving and a "hands on" approach, through their design projects, they acquire the resources to begin thinking like architects.

Through the exploration of architectural qualities both visual and literal and the use of creative techniques (drawing, collage, colour, modeling, computer aided designs, mapping) the students will begin to comprehend the essence if space.
